i5 4670k won't overclock

CPU: i5-4670K
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1060 3GB
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600MHZ
MOBO: MSI H81M-E33 (MS-7817)

So basically I initially bought the H81M-E33 with overclocking in mind and I usually take alot of care in picking my components but evidently I've made a crucial mistake as this particular mobo isn't 'built' for overclocking, or so they say...

Even thought I've now realised that it can't overclock my cpu I'm quite frustrated as I have the whole overclocking panel in the BIOS with all the options and whatever and so I bought an after market cooler for the cpu so that I'd be able to overclock successfully.

Here's the problem: even after having found no evidence of a possibility to overclock on this mobo (except when pairing the G3258 with it) I still had high hopes and so I messed around with the settings in the BIOS and managed to successfully overclock to 4Ghz form stock changing nothing but the CPU ratio. I was as happy as larry because I was stress testing and what not getting temps lower than 70 degrees celsius consistently. Now, here's why I'm so mad. After I did all this magic on the mobo I turned the pc off cus I had to get my beauty hours innit and low and behold the next day I couldn't overclock anymore. I can change the CPU ratio just as I did before but now even if I under clocked it to say: 3.3Ghz (as I had previously done when it also overclocked to 4Ghz) it won't change but remain at stock speed even though when I go and check the CPU Ratio multiplier it states whichever number I entered in the previous boot, be it 33, 36, 40 or even 42.

So, why can't I overclock anymore if I just managed to the previous day?

Note: Before successfully overclocking I did all I could from what I read was wrong with other mobos (as previously It wasn't overclocking) including
- Taking the CMOS battery out for a couple of minutes
- Updating the BIOS (updated to v6.7)
- Changed my BIOS settings to 'Optimized Defaults' and restarted
- Initially underclocked CPU to see if it could change the Ratio at all (which it did)
