I'm attempting to build a budget gaming pc to play things like WoW, PubG, Destiny2. I'm looking in the $500-$700 range. Here is a link to what I've picked so far. Any help on better items to make this the best gaming pc for that price point would be much appreciated!

WoW and most MMO's prefer stronger CPU's, I'd recommend this based on your budget and the parts you already have.

CPU: Intel - Core i5-8400 2.8GHz 6-Core Processor ($179.00 @ B&H)
Motherboard: Gigabyte - Z370P D3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($95.89 @ OutletPC)
Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($98.89 @ OutletPC)
Storage: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($46.49 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: MSI - GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB GAMING X 4G Video Card ($244.98 @ Newegg)
Total: $665.25

I think I would go with Intel here and still stay under your budget. For that CPU, you will have to figure out how to update the bios to work on that board. AMD has a CPU "loaner" program, but it may be a headache.

The i3 8100 will perform better than the 2200g. The only real reason to get the 2200g is for the integrated graphics. Since you will be getting a GPU, you wont be using the integrated graphics feature. If you do decide to stick with the 2200g, get faster RAM. I would look at RAM that is 3200mhz for the 2200g.

I would go with this:

If I were you I would ditch the SSD and save up for something a little better. Otherwise it's a pretty solid build.
Nothing really wrong with the SSD except it's kinda slow for an SSD. And that's really the whole point of an SSD in the first place.

I assume you already have a power supply?

8100 is EXTREMELY slightly faster and considerably more expensive when you take into account motherboards.

and actually some fps benchmarks show it beating out the 8100. However they are probably biased, and possibly are including the integrated graphics.

And this is from an Intel/Nvidia fanboy...
However, AMD made something almost as fast for under $100 it's hard to suggest a CPU/MB combo that will result in a few fps extra but that is about $50 more.

I do have a power supply, the case and a DVD drive, just needed the rest. I'm willing to change anything I've picked just looking for the "best" combo for game play and graphics.

I don't think you're going to find better in that price range than what you already have.
Next best processor up is the 8350k (the 2200G beats the 8100 and 1300x in price to performance ONLY, in reality they are comparable.) And the 8350k is about $50 more and requires an aftermarket cooler, and a Z370 board so you're looking at about $100 more to upgrade to the next level.

I'm not a fan of the SSD, but anything else would be a considerable amount to upgrade to and it's not going to give you more fps, just slightly faster load times. Worth it for some (like me, with my $600 Samsung 960 Pro 1TB), not worth it for most, though.

For me, it is worth the $40 difference between platforms not to have to deal with bios updates of the b350 chipset to run the 2200g.

Also, here the review of the 2200g from techpowerup. While they did not compare a 8100, they did compare a 7500 and 7400 which are very similar to the 8100. The performance difference between a 7500 and a overclocked 2200g at 3.9% was 20% higher fps in favor of the 7500.
