I built a pc around 2 months ago. Ive had some problems with connection since and I havent known why. Today I checked the internet speed is 10 mbps when it was 100 on my old pc. I tested my old pc today with the same connection as on my main pc and it got 100/100. So is there a possibility that the new computers motherboard or something is slowing down the internet or what could it depend on?

Solution
the wrong driver will not affect performance, it will make the adapter work or not work (if it installes at all).

and win update etc will NEVER affect a 100 Mbit line so much, that it loses 90% thru output, just not gonna happen.

while i dl updates i still get 50% of the line speed, of not even 35 Mbit total.

Turn off pc.
Reboot modem and router by unplugging them for 20s.

Check again. If its still slow, use the tcpip-tweaker from speedguide.net.
Mark the box to change settings for all adapters, move slider to the max speed the line can do (100), click on optimal button in lower half and hit apply.
Reboot pc and check again.

Did you install your network dirver correctly?

What OS are you using on both old & new PC ?
Did you try to turn off windows auto update and make sure there are no background processes are using internet ?
May you try to boot from safe mode with networking and check the speed ?
