I'm JUST needing a free online CD driver for WIndows 7, but ALL I can't find is these 'pay' services?

My HP laptop came with WIn7, but I upgraded to 8,1 and then 10, which worked 'pretty well' flawlessly for probably ~2 yrs, wifi print and everything else, but since late 2017! Therefore, I'm trying to reformat one of my partitioned drives, but I can't find a FREE CD driver anywhere, for Windows 7 preferably, or 8, 8.1, 10? Removed since 1994! I 'was' a MacOS classic fanatic with a 1994 Performa 640/100powercard/586dx4 MacOS 8.6/WinXP/601ppc AND an 8500/300ghz MacOS 10.2.8/WinXP via VirfualPC! I didn't go to the 'dark side' fully until 2003!

You shouldn't need any special drivers for an optical drive (CD driver), if the device is working properly. As this is an older system, I suspect you are chasing a defective hardware issue that is preventing drivers from loading properly.
