Hello all,

Im interested in adding two more DIMMS to my build primarily for aesthetics but also for performance (i guess lol)

I was wondering what the drawbacks are to using all four dimm channels performance wise. What happens to my RAM frequency, timings and voltage when adding four dimms? Is there any reason not to do this? There are a lot of questions I don't even know to ask.

My main question is: How do I go about this? lol

I'm pretty inexperienced with this technical stuff. I can build a PC just fine and infact I had to change the profile for my ram to even run at the right frequency during initial setup and it has seemed to be stable since I built the computer back in November.

My build is comprised of the following:

EVGA GTX 1080 SC ACX 3.0

Ryzen 5 1600X 3.6Ghz

ASUS ROG Strix X370-F Gaming AM4

Team T-Force Night Hawk DDR4 3200 16GB (2x8GB)
Timing 16-18-18-38
CAS Latency 16
Voltage 1.35V

Windows 10

thank you for your time!!

First, what are gonna do with 4x8gb?

Second, I myself prefer getting a single kits of 4x8gb as it is more guaranteed of success

Why? Because mixing different kits of rams may fail, from fail to post or multiple bsod

If you still want to mix and worry about cl, speed, then go get the one you use right now

If all you do is gaming, I see no benefits from going to 32gb, as 16gb is enough for nowadays gaming

Performance wise, there is almost none performance boost in real life applications by going 4dimms,

They would all be the same DIMMS. And like I said its mainly for visual aesthetics cause I just want the four DIMMS to be filled since they are RGB and very stylish.
