Pretty much my 2 x 4GB DDR3 ram cards keep on causing my PC to restart over and over unless they're installed on different channels on my motherboard. I have 0 clue what could be causing this and really want my RAM to be dual channel. Both my cards are identical and from the same manufacturer.

Solution
Identical does not mean same. If they were not bought as a kit, such problems can happen.Anyway, first thing is to check if all RAM slots work fine. Test them one by one using single stick. If all work, then install both stick and reset CMOS before firing up. If still nothing, try second pair of slots, again resetting CMOS.

A lot of time if you buy ram at different times even from the same manufacturer and such it will not work properly. IF you get a kit withy 2 sticks of ram then its fully tested to work together etc.. I would try an different kit if you can. OR you could IF it boots up into bios make sure the voltage and CAS settings are set properly to what ever the ram you have is. ON some older comptuers I had to up the ram voltage to get a stable system (NOT a lot of extra voltage but just a little more then what it was rated at.. like if its 1.5volts I bumped it up to 1.51 or 1.52 voltes and all was good.
