I'm assuming that's an am4 CPU. You could consider upgrading to a ryzen CPU like a 1600 or better. Also, you don't say what video card you've got if any, so I would look at that. At least a GTX 1050 would be a good start.

I have a GTX 1050ti and a ryzen 1600 overclocked. Pretty happy with it, but will upgrade when prices go down again.

8gb is good for a start but you'll want to upgrade that as well at some point.

But you probably want to upgrade to a dedicated graphics card first, then a CPU upgrade. After that, I would consider a solid state drive and extra ram to go to 16gb.

Also, don't know what...

Also, don't know what power supply you have, so you want be to be sure that's a decent unit. Last thing I would consider upgrade if you want to be able overclock is to maybe a b350 motherboard or x370 if you want to run dual video cards etc.
