GPU or motherboard failure?

Hey, My older pc with a MSI 790GX - G65, Phenom II X4 970 and a GTX 560 1GB has been playing up. Whenever I turn on, I can't get past boot, and when I used to be able to, I kept getting constant GPU driver failures. When booting into safe mode and checking Device manager, my GPU is reporting error 43 therefore it has stopped. I also got stuttering, artifacts, blue flickering lines and lag. Im not sure if it is the PCI-E slot or the GPU. I have taken the GPU out multiple times, the fans spin when started so I know it is on, and I have checked out the PCI-E slot and it seems fine. Is my graphics card Dying/Defective? It has just continued to get worse and I'm thinking of replacing it but I'm not sure if its the motherboard or GPU so it's holding me back.
Please help!

You can manually install drivers, type device manager in start, it should pop up, open it,
after that go to display (the >), and it should be GTX 560 or Microsoft/generic
Right click select update, the browse, and again browse (you need to select extracted installer folder) and tick subfolders, and it should install it in few minutes, if it doesnt installed then probably the GPU died.
It sound more like the GPU is failing. Just because the fans still spin really doesn't mean anything, the only way to know for sure is to try the card in another computer. Assuming you don't have another computer to test it in, do you have a friend or family member who would let you test the card in their computer?....it's the only way to be 100% sure.

I thought it would be the GPU. However, is it possible the PSU could have something to do with it a skill it is very old and dirty? I may just be getting paranoia lol. And unfortunately no, I don't have another PC to test it in.

It doesn’t have thermal pads, and I don’t have the resources to replace the paste or the money to get the resources. I have tried DDU in safe mode many a time, and sometimes the drivers don’t install at all after until a lot of times and the problem comes back. I will try again and let you know when I have done so and what the results were.

It didn’t work, and the installer doesn’t even begin now, it only used to fail halfway through so this leaves me to believe it is dying. Thank you all for the help, I will be buying a new card.
