GPU weaker than the CPU. Damage PC?

Question: Does having a weaker GPU damage my PC?

My 'Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Vapor-X' is dead.

For a replacement, I'm considering the 'Gigabyte GeForce GT 1030 OC 2G' which about $90 here.

I know it's a downgrade and I should maybe get the GTX 1050 or RX 460 but I don't want to spend a lot because I only play games occasionally. I play mainly games like: Rocket League, Don't Starve, Cities Skylines (or any other city-building games).

At least, it's better than playing on integrated graphics, right?

My specs:

Thank you.

The only damage will be to your pride, and your gaming capability. There is no possibility of damage, ever, from using unbalanced hardware, unless of course you happen to be using a CPU cooler that is too weak for the TDP of your CPU. You will be fine.

Yes, it will be better than MOST integrated graphics. Certainly better than the iGPU on that processor.

That's a relief! I don't play AAA games much, so I figured getting a budget graphic card makes more sense.

Thanks for taking the time to reply!
