USB 3.1 TYPE C Gen 2 VS Thunderbolt 3

Hello guys , I just want to know this the USB 3.1 TYPE C GEN 2 will it be the same as the Thunderbolt 3 ?? Because i am considering buy a laptop for gaming and also for easy future proof. But on my budget , I can’t get any high end laptop unless midrange price point . BTW, will the USB 3.1 Type C GEN 2 support eGPU???

Buying a laptop with the idea of adding an EGpu makes no sense to me. You give up the portability by needing the adapter, GPU and PSU.

Factoring in those additional costs and the weight/space they take up, you would just be better off with something from here - https://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&IsNodeId=1&N=100167748%20601211658

USB3.1-gen2 is still USB protocol. Thunderbolt on the other hand is fundamentally external PCIe. Two mostly unrelated things despite using the same cables.
