i7-7700k Getting up to 95 Degrees Celsius While Rendering

I'm trying to render on Cinema 4D. It doesn't matter what render model I use, my CPU temps shoot up to 95c instantly. I have thermal compound that I put on there about two months ago. I have a Kraken X62 that seems to be working correctly, anything helps, I just don't want to destroy my CPU, thanks.

Solution

95C is like max temp limit for most CPU's. What I would recommend is removing the CPU fan and reinstalling it with right amount of thermal paste, if not done already. Also check the pump of the Kraken X62, it may not be pumping right amount of liquid for adequate cooling.

That should be at least 15C too high....

Make sure you don't use too much thermal compound, spread it (with a scotch-taped fingertip) thinly to within 1 mm of edge of heat shield, and, make sure pump is locked/tightened evenly at assorted corners/sides, so not tilted slightly...

check temps at idle...

my own 7700k (Noctua NH-D15, XMP/MCE on, all 4 cores at 4.5 GHz during activity) runs about 29-30C at idle, with temps fluctuating from 40c-56C during a Defender scan, and 64C during Battlefield 1 gaming, and 73C during Prime95/small FFTs ...

If temps go to 95C instantly, I'd almost have concern over whether or not the pump is even operating...; does the radiator get warm at all?
