Hello everyone. I have strange problem with my gpu. I have hd 6870. When gpu hit in furmark 80 - 85 C (i know it is a bit high) pc worked fine for 30 seconds after stress test then image on monitor turned into stripes and pc rebooted itself. Also pc wont recognize gpu for some time ( get only black screen after beep). Onboard graphics wont turn on.
my specs
cpu fx 6100
mobo asus m5a78l mlx
psu aerocool kcas 500w
p.s. Card worked fine for 5 years(!!!) and of course i changed termal paste on it

Solution
check your BIOS settings and see if you can enable integrated graphics, it sounds like its disabled or some cables are unplugged on the GPU, check every cable you can involving the GPU.

and if that doesnt work then all i can say is its time to hit the market.

I've had the same problem with my Radeon HD 5770, i think its old age, but changing the thermal paste on anything can have possible bad outcomes, how long ago did you change the thermal paste?

Not so long ago... also card went into box for 1 year as i got 470 but it got defective memory and i changed it back. For 1-2 month it worked perfectly than started this problem. I really dont want to buy over priced 1070 or 580. Also i have all tools to get all the voltages off videocard
p.s all temps were perfect at first
