Should i buy fx series or save up for ryzen

Solution
The FX cpus had @⅔ the IPC (speed at which it could shove threads through) of a decent 3rd generation Ivy-Bridge Intel cpu. You are now on 8th generation Intel. Clock for clock, that means basically that an FX is @60% slower per clock, or @40% slower per clock than a Ryzen cpu.

To put it bluntly, a FX at 4.0GHz would be the same as a Ryzen at @2.2GHz. Considering that it's usually not difficult to get a Ryzen to @3.8GHz, to get the same performance from a FX, it'd need to be running at almost 7GHz.

That's an overweight dog with no training wheels and only 2 legs in a race with a grayhound.

Save your money. Forget FX.
