Parity Storage Space write error, but which drive is causing the problem

Hello everyone.

See the image... My parity Storage Space keeps disappearing due to a write failure.

The problem is, I cannot find any way to identify which drive. Storage spaces does not tell me! The individual drives show up as OK with a big green tick next to them while the Parity Storage Space has a big red X and an error message: "Error. Offline due to critical write failures; add drives" ... so what should I do?

Surely there is a way to identify which physical drive it is so one can swap it out easily? I cannot find answers on the web, so would greatly appreciate some help on this. I have bought a replacement drive and have been trying to get this answered by MS but the support hasn't been helpful.

Your help would be greatly appreciated, thanks,

Mark.

Hi USAFRet,

Thanks but the article doesn't quite speak to my problem: In the article it says "How to identify a physical disk when an error occurs:
For a disk that returns an error indicating that the drive is failing"

I do not have any indication anywhere that a particular disk is failing, only that there was a write error on the Storage Space. No specifics are given. In Powershell, my 3 "raid" drives all show up as "Healthy". See the image here... I am flummoxed!!!

Hi USAFRet,
I took out all drives and plugged all cables back in to Mobo and drives yesterday... it's not that it seems.
Just so odd they show up as healthy on powershell...
I wonder if it's risky/worth a shot to guess, ie to replace the first disk with the new one, and if there are still problems, try disk2 then 3?
Would that be too risky?

BTW is windows error log in Event Viewer?

Is this data backed up elsewhere?
If so, you can try the drive swapping thing. See what happens.
