Incompatble motherboard and RAM work around?

Hey,
so my pc build is getting on a little bit but can't yet afford going for an upgrade. Currently I have the ASUS P8 Z77-V_LE, I also have 2x8GB G.Skill F3-1333C9D, but I am only able to run a single stick.

Is there any tinkering I could do to be running both without any memory issues?

I updated the bios and then I noticed the seating for the RAM was damaged, so instead of sitting them in A2 and B2, I have them in A2 and B1 and it is working now. Could this cause any issues down the line?

Okay, so as of this morning I started getting memory errors on attempt start up, I had to remove the second stick as the compatibility testing couldn't resolve the issue, any ideas on the cause of this?

I haven't as the system wouldn't boot when the two sticks are in.
I had tried each stick in each slot and the system works fine. Earlier I had both sticks in A1 and B1 and it worked, I turned it off left it half an hour and it went back to not booting. What really puzzles me is the inconsistency of it all.

Go here and get memtest. Burn to CD/USB and then boot from that device. Run full test (it will take a while), with both memory sticks installed and individually. Try to isolate whether a slot or a particular module is the problem.

Also, bent motherboard socket pins can cause similar issues affecting the memory controller. If the memtest results are inconclusive, you mat want to inspect the CPU socket for bent pins.

BTW, are you overclocking anything (CPU, GPU, memory)?

Okay, so I downloaded onto a USB set it to start up it ran fine with a single stick, but with both sticks in it doesn't start up, the DRAM light is the only indication anything is working. So just to clarify with two sticks in it doesn't boot into anything and none of my peripherals function.

No, nothing is OC all at stock levels.

I had planned on doing a new build later this year, was just hoping this one would work until then.

But here's the thing, I went back into BIOS set to default again just incase, put in the two sticks of RAM and unplugged the HDD and it started up fine after pressing the MemOk button. Won't know if it will hold out but hopefully so until later this year.
