I have an acer laptop. No power getting to pc, either woth adapter or in battery. Worked fine yesterday. Tried ESD, no luck.

I have an acer laptop. No power getting to pc, either woth adapter or in battery. Worked fine yesterday. Tried ESD, no luck. AC/DC adapter light comes on. When I plug the adapter into the laptop, the adapter indicator light immediately goes out. Any ideas? Please help

if power adapter light goes straight off when plugged in without battery then its defindetly short. Need more info on model ettc
