is it possible to have your Xbox one X connect and your PC transmit audio together to your headset?

i am asking cause i like to use Discord but you have to connect your headset to the controller to use the xbox.

is there a device i can use to combine both platform so i can hear my game from the xbox and hear/speak to discord on the pc?

is it possible?

you mean using the optical output (are there any other way) and connect directly into the pc?
would there be any lag, audio issue, audio quality or anything at all?
thanks for the replay.

oh I was thinking plain-old analog L/R but forgot XBone does not have it - however if your connecting HDMI out to your TV, then your TV may have the good-old analog out that you can use for your PC line in, effectively the same thing just from the TV instead of directly from XBone.

There should not be much lag if any at all on the PC, it's pretty fast for real-time audio processing with analog inputs.

yes if you have an optical connection on your board, going to be output only. There are sound cards that do have optical input, no experience with those although it should be a similar affair... And I am curious if it would enable surround to be decoded as well - hmm will have to investigate that a bit further!

It seems that device needs another power plug as well. Kinda want to avoid a mess. If I go this route than should I just go for a amp/dac that does this function while powering my headsets?

Well for now this is my number option is to get the item listed but I am still open for other possiblity/solutions

http://www.soundblaster.com/products/soundcards

well after a few more days of research i think all of these can work for my need. sadly the only "Downside" is that Chat would not work for Xbox one. the only device that i found that can do such a thing is Atro mixAmp Tr which supports this feature. after a few reading i do not know if this "Amp" will improve my audio or f it up with a gamer profile. plus i do not know what OHMz they are for.

so for anyone else looking for a device to solve my issue..something like the link above can help.

also thanks Doolittle for helping me out.

i chose the sound blaster G5 for my need. a little $ but to hell with it.
