I built my first pc about 6 months ago. It's running good on games but I wanna upgrade it as I can't get 60+ fps in most games. Planning on buying a new cpu, monitor, and graphics card.
parts:
cpu: g4560
gpu: gtx 1050 ftw
motherboard: b250m pro-vdh
planning on buying:
cpu: i5 7500
gpu:: gtx 1060 6gb
monitor: 144hz monitor with 1 ms response time (1920x1080) under $200
if anyone has any recommendations for the monitor that would be nice to see.
so my question. will the new parts I plan on getting work with my motherboard and pc?

Solution

the 1060 is a good 1080p card, in most newer games it cannot handle a 144hz monitor

it is more of a 60hz card

you want a gtx 1070 ti or gtx 1080 or better for 144hz

UNLESS all you want to play is...

Question from Sinxph : "best cpu in 2018 for under 200?"

what's the problem with yoru system? best CPU would be an i7 of course.. but maybe that doesn't help you as it's above 200$. some things can be solved with putting money in other things than CPU or finding problems within system. List yours please
