5-10 minutes into the game fornite my computer restarts. When I play other games like csgo, or h1z1 it would never do that. I have taken my cpu cooler once to clean the fan but i did not replace the thermal paste. could that be the problem?

specs:
amd fx(tm)-8350 eight-core processor
ADATA XPG V1 DDR3 1866MHz (PC3 14900) 8GB (4GBx2)
radeon (tm) rx 480 graphics
psu don't know

(my cpu goes up to 100+ degrees Fahrenheit when playing fortnite)

Solution
Do you notice a drop in FPS before the reboot? With heat issues you should suffer thermal throttling first which significantly reduces performance.

Hard unpredictable restarts under gaming loads are usually due to a PSU issue.

Hello,
100+ farenheit while gaming? That's odd because it's only 37 degrees,
So if it's 100 Celsius then yes you should change the thermal compound and it should solve your issue. Btw everytime you remove a cooler for cleaning you should be changing thermal paste.
Cheers.

Would there be any other reasons as to why this is happening? could it be bad ram sticks?
I've noticed my DRAM led flash red when i start up my pc.. i don't know what that means.
Motherboard: ASUS M5A97

I hate to ask dumb questions but, How would I check the temp @load? I did a memtest and nothing negative came back from the results
