Motherboard flashed pink then blue with no pump starting

Hi, I'm currently doing my first water cooling loop, I have an Asrock Z370 extreme 4 with an 8700k and 32gb of trident Z memory all hooked up to a EVGA nova 1000w G2 power supply. When I jump the motherboard PSU connector and just the pump, the pump powers up fine however, when I plug the motherboard into power and all other components my motherboard flashed pink along its RGB Led and then beings to flash blue and nothing more happens no pump no fans not even the power supply kicks up its fans like it does when it's jumped. Any ideas and help please?

Just to confirm, when you have the PSU connected to everything, and you hit the power switch, NOTHING happens?

Is your case's power on switch wired to the motherboard? Or are you shorting the pins? How are you trying to turn it on?

Omg I'm so incredibly dumb I just realized I never even bothered to short the motherboard power on pins and was just switching on the power supply lol. I feel so stupid it's an Ockham's razor kinds thing

It's ok, I've been there. I remember when I got new tires for my bike, and I was so impressed by how narrow the tires were. I was riding along, and just staring at the beauty of how thin they were and.... WHAM! I crashed into the back of a pickup. Derp.
