Hello guys,

Since yesterday I having a huge headache trying to figure out the problems that I am encountering.
Long story-short: I have moved into a new apartament on which I can only connect my modem in the hall and from there I have a cable that goest through the wall to my living-room which ends to a port into the wall.
Here comes the “funny” part:
If i conncet the cable that goes to the living room to the modem and connect my computer directly, the internet works... but the connection is not that good.
However if I try to connect my router to the living room directly to the wall cable there is no signal at all.
Also if I connect my router to the modem and after to the cable that goes to the living room and I connect it to the computer I have no internet at all.

My question is, could the issue be encountered because of the port from the loving room?

Solution
It all depends what's on the other end of the cable in the "wall".
A picture is worth thousand words, you know, so you can try to draw a picture and say what goes wrong.
