Optimize SSD performance

Recently built a new system with a Samsung 250Gb 860 Evo as the boot Drive. This is the first time I've used an SSD, so I want to know what to do to optimize the performance on it.

I've got Win 10 and other apps(not many so far) and Steam(only 1 game) on there. What else do I set? I've read a few articles which recommend doing certain things, also read some that say that Windows automatically optimizes for SSD performance. Which is true? What steps do I take?

With 8GB, leave the pagefile at System Managed. If you had more, I'd consider turning that size down.
But just leave it as is.

Restore Points? meh....that's OK. I've seen some systems where it was allotted 50%..:pt1cable:
Personally, I don't use that at all.

You don't really have to do much.

1. Don't fill it up too much. For a 250GB drive, don't go over 200GB actual used space

2. Consider turning hibernation OFF. You're probably not using it, and its just there sucking up drive space.
Turn it OFF here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/920730/how-to-disable-and-re-enable-hibernation-on-a-computer-that-is-running

3. How much RAM do you have and what is the pagefile size set at?

4. System Restore points. How much space is allocated?

8 GB RAM, pagefile size is 1920MB.

10GB(4%) allocated to system restore.
