Motherboard compatible with the CPU

I am going to buy an AMD fx 4300 for a really quick, fun, and cheap build. Along with that I am going to buy the Asus GT 1030. I already have the motherboard. My motherboard right now the Gigabyte Turbo 3D. Is the processor compatible with the motherboard? Thanks!

Gigabyte Turbo 3D is not the name of the motherboard. It is a marketing term referring to the onboard integrated graphics.

GA-MA78LMT-S2 is the name of a motherboard. The revision number is printed on the corner of the board. You can probably find the model number printed under the PCIe x 16 slot.

The support tab also lists the CPU Support List.

ok, but does the AMD fx 4300 compatible with this motherboard?

Not according to https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/GA-MA78LMT-S2-rev-33#ov you need an MB with at least 970fx chipset to be sure it's compatible with that processor. Needs to be AM3+ socket. No +, no go.

Yes, exactly but since you already have that MB, you could get some Phenom II x6 and get about same performance. Consult QVL list for compatible processors.
