Hi all,

I have 1x8 "Kingston 8GB 1600Mhz CL9" on my "ASUS Z97 Pro Gamer" motherboard. I need an upgrade to 16 GB, however, Kingston does not produce this model no longer.

I have this one ------ HX316C9SR/8
Want to buy this one ------ HX316C10FR/8

There are only "CL10" models of the same product. Could I use CL10 version without any compatibility problem ?

Thanks for all your help...

There is no guarantee. They should work. In all likelihood they will function. Since they weren't bought as a matching set and are not the exact same specs. There is always the chance of incompatibility.

That being said I mix RAM of different speeds, sizes and manufacturers frequently. I frequently get free computers from clients when installing new systems. So, I scavenge a lot of parts to improve my computers or turn two crap/broken computers into one decent computer for donation. I can't think of an instance where mixing RAM was an issue. Besides the lack of dual channel. But it is a possibility and a standard warning here.
There is no guarantee they will work if memory is not bought in matched pairs. Usually they'll automatically change settings to the highest clockrate and lowest latency they have in common. It's uncommon in my experience for mismatched RAM not to function together. Just be aware there is a chance they won't be compatible.

I have 3 empty slots and dual-channel working is not necessary. I just wanna make it 16 GB...

Can I use both Fury and Savage which have different CL values on 2nd or 4th slots at the same time ?
