I also don't know whether I need a Mid-Tower or a Full Tower Case

A mid-atx case will be plenty. I chose the Vivo Titan.

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM

is the only part that made me think, that's not quite right. First issue I see is there is only one drive in this build. That's putting all your eggs in one basket. That is unless you already have a drive you haven't told us about.

I would purchase a 250GB(Samsung Evo?) or larger SSD as well. A 500GB is a perfect amount for the average gamer. The SSD speeds up Windows' environment, reduces boot times, expedites video editing and other productivity tasks as CAD and most importantly for gamers, it will speed up or eliminate in-game load times. It does have a lot of value for a gamer.

I'd go with an 8400 & a 1070ti personally.

Hi,
Assuming you have no compatibility issues that system will shred most games, mines a 6600k and a gtx 980ti and everything plays at max 1440p no problems. Witcher 3 with everything on and max in 1080p runs flawlessly, yours should be better than mine.

For the case, personally, I'd go for a full ATX. I've got the corsair carbide 400c, by no means a small case but with a full ATX board and my 980 it doesn't leave me a huge amount of space for custom watercooling if I decide to go that way in the future. My flatmate has a corsair carbide air 540, similar footprint side on to mine but it's dual chamber (wider) and he could AirBnB the space he has for future expansion. I wish I'd thought a bit more about space when I bought my case.

If you have the money for it, definitely get a 120gb or preferably a 240gb or more ssd for your OS etc, especially if your 2tb drive is a bit on the old side. That Barracuda is a nice drive though.

Hope this helps :)

Going through the same pain atm myself, but that i5-8600K is probably the best bang for buck, clockable CPU out there at that level. Do you like to Overclock? Will you want to move to 4K Gaming soon? These are other questions to consider too. Definitely throw in an SSD for the Op system tho'...!
