I have the Dell inspiron 3667 and recently i tried to dual boot my laptop so i could use linux at school. But i wanted to dectypt my hard drive and then encrypt it so i could reset the BitLocker because there is no option to reset the pin.

After i hit the Decrypt button it got to about 70 ish percent and is stuck there. It has been stuck there for a few days now whenever i log into windows, casing everything to load up Extremely slow and slowing everything down. Also my hard drive is running at about 43c because of it.

In task manager it says that system is taking 25 - 40mb/s. I dont know if i can stop the decrypting process or not but its starting to piss me off. I dont want to have to reset windows 10 if i dont have to.

Solution
I hope something hasn't already happened to compromise the decryption process.
Best thing to do would be to close all programs and background apps, turn off sleep and hibernate (including hard drive sleep), and let the computer sit at the desktop, without using it at all, for 12 hours straight.

If the decryption process shows any progress then you're in luck - let it sit until complete.
If the decryption process shows no progress it's probably permanently messed up. Back up everything you can, blow away the OS, and start fresh.

I left it for 12 hours and it finished so we are all good, thanks! :)
I encrypted it right away and then left it overnight and it seems to be working a lot better.
