I am the sorry owner of a Lenovo Ideapad 110 15isk and in an attempt to maximize the speed I have decided to replace the disc drive with a HDD caddy that way I could put a SSD in the main slot and the current HDD in the caddy.

I have not yet received my new SSD but had another HDD sitting around and was curious to what was on it. So I popped out the disk drive and popped in the caddy with the HDD in it, but when I tried to boot the computer the computer gave me the option to start normally or go into repair mode, starting normally wasnt working so I powered down and took out the HDD but left the caddy in to see if that was an issue, but the computer booted up as normal.

I did check my BIOS and it says that the legacy boot is the main HDD, A few weeks ago I had to send my computer in on warranty because of a RAM failure, so now there's a test screen that looks like this when I boot up that includes media test failure, check cable, but the computer boots fine after that.

So now I'm needing to know if the computer is attempting to boot from the caddied HDD or what, and how I can boot the computer with both HDDs

Solution
For anyone else having an issue like this, I've solved it myself. Access your BIOS/UEFI (usually by pressing either f1 or f2 on boot) and switch your boot from legacy to UEFI, make sure that your UEFI drive is the one your wanting to boot from.
