Hi.
I really need your advices,
Should i stick with fx 6300 or buy i5 4460/i5 3570? I wont upgrade for like 3-5 years.

Games that im going to play like PUBG, BDO, NFS.

Ps:
*i wont do overclock
*My fx is on 3.5ghz (normal clock)
*In my country (Indonesia), DDR4 RAM is so freaking expensive, so i wont go to ddr4 build.

Thanks a lot :)

Solution
You're looking at 10-15% more fps in gaming.

Personally I don't think thats worth it if you already own the fx 6300

That also depends on ypur gpu ?? Anything less than a decent modern mid-range card & that difference will be less.

Id save your money , stick with the fx 6300 for now & upgrade properly a year or 2 down the line to a current gen platform.

'Upgrading' to a newer but still defunct socket now makes very little sense at all - I can almost guarantee you won't get 5 years out of it.

i7 4790k

and if you want to keep it for 3 - 5 years then you are also going to need to overclock at some point, no getting around it

An overclocked 6300 at @4.3-4.5GHz is basically the same as an i5-3570 as far as fps performance goes, but will have a slight advantage in multiple core games such as pubg, BF1 etc because of its extra 2 threads. At stock speeds, it's definitely worse though, so decide on what's better. Spending a little money for a good cpu cooler and a little time researching OC or spend a lot more money on a cpu that's not going to be much better overall.

>.> pubg is cpu bound

a 6300 would be nowhere near a 4460 in that game at all

Check out this link. it shows costs and performance in a side by side comparison.
I5 4460 Vs FX 6300

It looks like you should go with Intel. The single core performance is way better. Like 40% faster overall effective speed. It does look like the Intel chip costs twice as much and im not sure what your upgrade path looks like on the Intel side of things but I bet any future upgrades will cost more if you decide to add better hardware in the future. On the AMD side of things, if your going to use a fx 6300 - your upgrade path is really cheap if you ever decide to get better parts for your existing computer.
i'm personally brand loyal to AMD but if your gonna be sitting on this type of system for a few years, i'd have to get that intel processor. The Intel processor looks like it cost twice as much. if you can afford an I5 4460 but you really dont wanna spend that much, I would suggest getting an FX 8370 instead over a FX 6300. Its about $90. its 17% slower then the i5 4460 but the FX 6300 is 40% slower so...

Basically, choose your upgrade path. AMD if you plan on doing some upgrading on the short term or go with Intel if you plan to be stuck with whatever it is your getting for a long time.

I think imma stay with the fx since i only have 768p monitor and going to buy gtx 950/1050/1050ti.

Actually, i was thinking about sell all of my cpu (except ram) and build an i5 4460 + gtx 1050ti, that build would be fine for 3-5 years from now

How about selling the fx-6300 and getting a fx-8350? Won't cost a lot. And you can use the same Mobo and RAM.

What about GPU? That's what you really need for good gaming. At 768p you don't need even mid range GPUs. Look for some used ones that match your budget.

for gaming toverclocking the 6300 would be a better idea

also at lower resolutions cpu matters a lot more

the 4460 can be upwards of 60% faster than the 6300 depending on game

He needs a new mobo too = $$ That money saved could go to other parts..

Nahh, fx 8350 is too power hungry,
Im going to pair my fx with gtx 950 and play at 768p resolution.

Yes i know 4460 is faster, and actually i found asus h81m e for $40.

I have to agree you would be better off to keep saving and look at later upgrading to AMD ryzen/8th generation or higher Intel platform when they are released, then eventually upgrade to maybe 1080p or better on the monitor when it's feasible.

That said, I had an FX 6300. If you can clock it high enough, it's still not bad if you have a not range video card. In my opinion, newer generation platform though is where you will want to upgrade for it to last a long time. If you decided you had to upgrade to an older Intel platform, then i7 would be the only option that makes sense. Sure i5's have better single core performance, but you are setting games like battlefield 1 as an example, that are staying to want more cores.
