Installed faulty RAM, removed but still having memory problems

Earlier today I upgraded my computer with another 8gb RAM stick but it was faulty so I removed it. Hours later, everything seemed to be running fine but randomly Firefox crashed then later my Fortnite and Discord crashed, freezing my computer for a few seconds as my main monitor disconnected (2nd monitor stayed on with Firefox open). Everything ran perfectly before today, but I first started encountering issues on the new RAM stick with both Firefox and Fortnite. I figured everything would fix after removing the new faulty stick, even reinstalling Fortnite after the removal just to be safe.

Edit: I read on a Fortnite forum post about the error message I received. It mentioned it could be the RAM or page file causing the crash. I forgot that earlier today I had changed my page file to the minimum 800mb. I didn't expect doing that to cause crashes, but due to the correlation I reverted it back to automated page file. Was that what was causing my crashes or is it just connected to a root issue from my faulty RAM installation?

Solution
If setting the pagefile back to a normal size and having no problems after that could it well be that this was the problem.

Tried to do a clear cmos as well? After that just to be sure set the optimal default values again. Don't know what specs but if having ddr4 above 2133mhz or ddr3 equal or above 1600mhz set XMP to enabled after this if available.
