Hey All!

I’ve recently finished building my custom pc but I’ve noticed that my temps are crazy (I think they are at least). Can someone shed some light as to what might actually be the issue?

CPU: Intel i5 2500s w/stock cooler
Idle: 50-55 C and under load: 85 C

I see people hitting mid 30s with their i5 2500s and stock cooler, Is it the thermal paste maybe? I used the pea method.

Remove the cooler and check if the thermal paste is homogenous ?

The fan spins well and the thermal paste was applied with extreme caution and precision. (Using pea method)

I don't really know man, I used the arctic silver 5 thermal compound and removed the thermal compound that came on the stock cooler. (I used rubbing alcohol and lint-free thin cloth)

Remounted my cooler and I'm getting similar results. Even tried a fresh coat of thermal paste (of course removing the previous older coat with alcohol and lint-free thin cloth.)

If you rev up the RPM of the CPU fan... does it improve the temps, what software are you using to monitor temps? 50 idle doesnt sound way off for the stock intel cooler. What are the temps in the room? Is it in an "open" area or a cabinet?
