Hello,

Is it worth to upgrade with ssd? amd atlon II X2 250 + 4GB ram + ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics.

I've a customer that brought this pc, and he wants to spend as less as possible ofcourse.

A upgrade with ssd will cost him 60 + 25 euro (PlusMInus).

And a whole new pc will cost ofcourse 300/600.

So is it worth to upgrade this pc with a ssd and a full reset?.

Greetings,

Solution
W7 before Sp1 and XP were not equipped for SSD and couldn't handle Trim command so SSD would slow down to a crawl after a while. W10 is fine with it. Don't forget AHCI mode though.

They are not too bad, about 1/2 of a PhenomII x4.

A SSD will help lots, and you can reuse the existing HDD for extra space.

It's socket AM3 so that is great. Look for a used PhenomII x4. Don't spend too much here, if you can't find something fairly cheap just keep the AthlonII 250. A new heatpipe cpu cooler would allow for some FSB overclocking if the board is not a OEM one. The OEM amd coolers tend to be noisy so it's worth replacing them.

(I am assuming it has windows 7 or newer)
Because the new cards are so much less wattage, and it's likely the power supply is just a basic one. A new card like a GTX1030 or RX550 would be a good upgrade. A used GTX750, 750ti, 950, 650, AMD R3 250, HD-7750, ect would be a good upgrade too. (Just keep in mind some of the older cards use more power so make sure you pick one that is not high wattage since upgrading the power supply adds to the cost.)
