is a gtx 1070 enough for asus rog swift pg348q?

Solution
I would go with the Acer, but only I have one and like it. But I think it would be more of a preference for you. The Predator is more "gamer" looking (at least to me) and the Asus looks a little more professional.

Some people are going to swear by Acer and other will swear by Asus.
The 1070 will be able to push that panel at 60hz or above in most reasonably optimized games. If you are wanting 100fps, you wont get it.

I have a Preadator x34 and love it, it is very similar the Asus model. After going ultra wide, I cant go back.

The only reason I would get a TN panel is if you are big in quick twitch competitive esports because the input lag is faster on a TN panel than IPS. As for back light bleed, I don't see it on my panel.

Ultrawide FTW!

As for if the 1070 is good enough it should be fine as long as you don't mind adjusting settings accordingly but having gsync should help keep the FPS pretty smooth.

The backlight bleed/IPS glow isn't noticeable on my cheap LG ultrawide and I can't imagine it being worse on a higher end unit such as the PG278QR.

I've been reading comments/reviews on amazon, microcenter, newegg. seems like every monitor out there has some issues.

I currently have a 1070, and I plan to stick with it until the inflated vid cards from miners take a price correction in the market place. Sounds like I'll still get some benefit from the ultrawide long as i tweak settings in games.

I'm sort of in between the asus model, the predator, and the alienware one. If $$$ was not an issue (due to the fact they are almost all about the same price range) which one would you get?

Dell Alienware AW3418DW 34.1" IPS WQHD Curved Gaming LED Monitor: $1099.99
Acer Predator X34 34" IPS QHD Curved Gaming LED Monitor: $999.99
ASUS PG348Q ROG SWIFT 34" IPS Curved QHD LED Monitor: $999.99

I have the predator x34 and I cant say enough good things about it. The ASUS PG34 is essentially the same monitor with a different brand. The panels are made by the same manufacturer. I cant say much about the Alienware, as I have not seen on in person, but Dell makes good products, even if they are overpriced.

For me, between those 3 monitors, I would get whichever is cheaper as they are all the same.

If you are on a tight budget, AOC makes a ultrawide that is cheaper. I have never had an AOC product and they seem to be more of a budget brand, but if you are tight on cash it may be a good substitute.

I agree with you on the 1070, just keep it. Your 1070 will get your 60fps or higher on any of those monitors in most reasonably optimized games. And unless you are play quick twitch competitive shooters, 60fps is just fine.

Thank you very much for all your input :D

Incidentally I checked on acer predator and the asus one. both models use the same panel manufacturer "LG. Display"
