So I have a older Dell xps 8700 that I recently upgraded with a new psu and I tried to replace the graphics card with a 1060. After installing the 1060 my pc wouldnt boot. The fans, cpu fan, hdd and graphics card are all working but all Im seeing is a black screen. It doesn't even let me get into the bios. Left the desk for 30 mins
and I come back to see it booted into my login screen. During the driver install though my pc froze and the black screen came back. I was watching a youtube video when this happened and the video was still playi g normally and I could pause and play with space bar and mouse. Uninstalled both amd and nvidia drivers with ddu in safe mode by unplugging the card and using the igpu and Im having no luck. If I plug in a card I get a black screen even if I switch to my igpu and the only way I can get through it is if I reset cmos. I know the pcie slot or graphics card isnt damaged because the card works fine on my brother's computer, and If I try to use my igpu with card installed, it gives me a warning telling me I have a dedicated graphics card plugged in. Altough when I tested it on my brother's pc, windows didnt identify it as a 1060 whereas my computer did. Gpu-z said it was a zotac 1060 on both pcs though. I tried playing overwatch to see if it was working but the game automatically set all setti gs to lowest and I was getting 10 fps in the main menu.

First of all what is your PSU model?
How did you connect the power cables to the GPU?
Can you post a picture of this PC with motherboard/gpu/psu/cpu etc.
Is in your BIOS the integrated graphics disabled and dedicated graphics enabled?
Also can you post a picture of this GPU?
And did you download the 391.01 Nvidia drivers from the Nvidia site?
