I have an ASUS - STRIX B350-F gaming motherboard with a Ryzen 3 2200g CPU.

Before my Motherboard is compatible with my CPU, I need to update my BIOS. To do that, I've heard that you need a compatible CPU, but I've also heard something about some motherboards having a USB flash ability. I've also heard this on some tutorial videos on how to update the ASUS - STRIX B350-F motherboard. I also might have heard somewhere that this motherboard has this flash ability, but I'm not sure at all. Is it possible to do this on my motherboard? Because I'd rather not buy a whole new CPU just to update my BIOS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

No, that's impossible on any current motherboard for AMD. A very few Intel boards do allow this.

AMD will send you a "boot kit" for free that includes a cheap APU processor. You are supposed to throw away the included heatsink afterwards (it doesn't fit Ryzen) and send the CPU back so they can refit the kit and send it to the next person.

I recently purchased a GA-AX370-Gaming 5 (rev. 1.0) and AMD Ryzen 3 2200G. When I put it all together I got no post, just a few lights on the MB. Before I found this post I called Newegg and RMA'd my MB. So now here I am waiting for my MB to return to have the same exact problem. I just went to the AMD warranty request site to give this a try. Hopefully this is a real thing and my MB and boot kit will get here at about the same time. I will provide an update as soon as I get confirmation.

***UPDATE*** Found this link describing exactly what needs to happen to request the boot kit from AMD:
