Accessing a mapped network drive remotely then streaming to TV

I've tried to search the forums for this question as I felt it may have been similar but then saw that the situation is a little more specific than what's available. The solution may seem simple to those who know what they are doing, though I find it a bit daunting.

I want to be able to map a a drive on my PC (which I have already done now) and then share the entire drive. I then want a friend to be able to access this drive who has absolutely nothing to do with my network, and then be able to stream some home-made videos to his Samsung 4K TV. I don't even think it's necessary for him to see this drive on his PC, I'm more happy to let his TV remotely connect to my drive directly. Now, whether this is going to be some form of FTP or DLNA, I'd like to know what I can do to set this up. How would the TV be able to connect to this drive? Would the drive not need some kind of IP address?

Solution
well your idea is nice but flawed.

1. his TV is connected to his network and your pc on your network, the television cannot access directly your network (even if you allow remote access through your router)
2. his Pc on the other hand can, he will need your Ip, a username and password which you will provide him, and will be able to access your hard drive to watch movies.
all very heavy on traffic on your network, so likely your ISp will look into what your doing and will see your streaming movies to a specific IP{ and probably throttle your access.

suggestion, get a 128GB thumb drive copy movies to it, hand them to your friend, prevent anyone from getting on your remote access to your network and keep the ISp off your back.

Solution
For TV to be able to access a network share, there are some pretty specific requirements.
Are you sure, that TV of your friend can do that? And even if TV was capable, it would work on same lan only (not via internet).

What you can do is:
  • Install PLEX server on your PC, configure shared libraries;
    open plex port in your router and forward it to your pc;
    install plex client in friends TV ( if TV is capable of doing that) and
    configure plex source on TV to external ip address of your router and opened plex port.
