Almost brand new PC turns on but won't start or beep (no power to mouse, monitor or keyboard).

I've had a new PC for nearly a month now and last night after I (eventually) stopped playing Civ' 5 on Steam I shut the computer down like normal, but after it would have normally shut down the PC kept running.

There was no update, message or anything, even the monitor played along. A few sec's after I told the PC to turn off the monitor went into power saving mode as if the PC was turned off, but with the PC continuing to run. I left it for a while but after about 10 min's it was still on and I had to go to bed so held the power button in until it turned off.

It's the next day and now when I try to turn it on there is no beep, no power to the fan the PC case came with (even though my water cooler fan still works), no power to the mouse or keyboard and the monitor just stays in sleep mode as if the PC wasn't turned on.

All the components are fresh out of the box a month ago and lasted this long without any issue whatsoever, I have no idea what to do or what is going on and I am VERY mad as I spend little over £1500 on this PC, only got a month with it and buying more parts is not an option for me. How the hell did this come out of nowhere like this? This is the first PC I ever built and I wish I'd never bothered.

ASUS Maximus VIII Extreme
GTX 1070 Turbo
16GB RAM HyperFuryX
I7 6700k
750 GQ

There are no red / blinking lights, no codes or anything, other than the lack of fan spinning looking through the side panel looks just like it was running normally.

I have tried changing the RAM slot / cleaning it with canned air and it didn't work.
I have also tried reseating the GPU / cleaning it with canned air and it didn't work.
I've also unplugged the PC and held down the power button for over 30 sec's (I counted to 60) and it didn't work.
I've also tried just turning it on and leaving it running and it doesn't work.
I've also unplugged, cleaned with canned air and replugged all PSU cables and it didn't work.
I disconnecting everything apart from the PSU, CPU, CPU cooler and RAM and nothing changed.
Took out CMOS battery and left it for 10 min's, I held the power down in while the PC was unplugged to drain the charge and now the fans work, but that's the only change.
I tried asking it nicely.

Now there is a little orange light on the motherboard that says "BIOS_LED 1" (not blinking, just a constant orange), I don't know if it was there before, but it is now.

I'm sorry if I sound stroppy but this was a really big deal for me, I had hoped to get more than 1 month out of it.

Hmm... I've had that issue forcing me to hold the power button to shut it off several times (not recently, though); it never caused a dead PC though.

Disconnect everything except for the CPU, RAM, and PSU and see if it will post. From there, add one component at a time to see what may be causing the issue.
(You probably know this, but just to cover my butt, don't remove the CPU cooler)

Also, what PSU do you have?

Alright, looking at several reviews on Newegg and Amazon, and comparing it to how your PC acted after you took out the CMOS battery, I think your motherboard is defunct. There seem to be a lot of issues with that particular motherboard.

Now, that's not guaranteed to be the case, but I think it is. Still, if you want to continue troubleshooting, here's a list of things to try:

0) To rule out a grounding issue, you may want to put the motherboard on a non-conductive surface (the motherboard box, some news paper, something wood, etc.). Please note: Anti-static packaging is only anti-static on the inside, it's intentionally conductive on the outside.

1) The easiest thing to do is borrow a working PSU and use that to see if that solves your issues.

2)The next easiest thing to do (assuming you haven't done this already, though I suspect you may have) is to try one stick of RAM at a time in each channel and see if you can POST that way. If all the RAM doesn't work, then it's down to the other remaining parts.

3) If the problem hasn't been found yet, this is where you may have to take it to a shop to test for the motherboard and processor; unless you have a spare motherboard or processor that both fits and works.

Good luck. Everything should be under warranty, since it's so new.

Thanks for info', as for the RAM it's all 1 stick. I'm probably going to take it to a guy I know who does this sort of thing for a living. Ultimately I had hoped that because this all happened so easily, it *should* be just as easy to undo (wishful thinking...), I probably shouldn't have tried what I tried so far, this is all way above me and if I mess something up I'd only have myself to blame.

Luckily he's a cool and trustworthy guy so I know he won't try and take me for a ride, but even then he ain't free haha, hence me trying to fix it myself. Thanks again for all the advice.
