I'm currently looking for a CPU for my entry level gaming build that will either be paired with a gtx 1050ti or 1060 6gb.
the i3 8100 got me so hyped until I realized it doesn't have hyperthreading... which just makes it a normal quad core. right now I have my eyes set on the i5 8400 with 6 cores, but the 2.8 clock speed is a bit low.
Currently I'm looking for a CPU with at least 4 cores, 3 clock speed give or take. 6mb L3 cache, hyperthreading is good but not needed.
also, if I can overclocked the i5 8400 that would be awsome, but i don't have the slightest clue about how to overclock anything... nor the equipment needed.
