Would Deliding my i7 7700k help reduce noise?

my case is loud and Im looking to quiet it down a bit. if I delid the cpu would the lower temps allow me to run the fans at a lower rpm? not trying to reach 5ghz. just trying to reduce some fan noise.
thanks in advance

Solution
try finding a better overclock that suites the temps you like to see on lower rpms sometimes 1ghz higher overclock is not worth the heat and you can drop alot of voltage leading to cooler temperatures. First try using different curves for your fans for more silent operation if you like how it sounds but the temps are not what you prefer then just lower the voltages.

i had this same issue before and i found out a 1 ghz difference is like from 1.35 volts to 1.25 stable with some minor tweaking on the cache too. i know its allot of effort to do trying to find that perfect spot for temps and noise together. leave the deliding idea your last option.

And for 7700k temps from 60-high 70s is totally fine with peeks to 85 i see theres tottally...

Just get better fans.
Rather than the somewhat hazardous option of prying apart your CPU.

my liquid cooler is running 2 noctua fans and the case has 4 NZXT aer F fans the pc just sits very close to me.

I'd look at dealing with your fans head on before delidding your CPU.

If your case fans are the nosiest part of your setup, deliding your CPU isn't going to do much of anything. Depending on your setup you could simply reduce the fan speed in BIOS and set up a custom fan profile. Depending on your climate (and of course your setup), most people never really need to be running their case fans at full throttle. If you do need high air flow through the case, look in to better performing fans. Most stock case fans leave a lot to be desired.

If your CPU fan is the noisy one, look at a better cooling. Either a new cooler or a new fan for the existing cooler. You're running a k chip, so you already had to buy a 3rd party cooler so chances are you can swap the fan out. Moving to a better fan may be all you need. If not, going with a more efficient cooler would help. If you decide to delide and you're already OCing, you'd want a solid cooler anyway so maybe look at some big air coolers that would fit in your case.

thank you for the reply. the cooler fans have already been swapped to noctua fans they forsure help. they spin at idle at around 800rpms my real question is can I run them at 600rpms and maintain the same temperature. the noise level is vastly improved at that point. im idling at roughly 45-50c (ignoring the typical 7700k temp spikes) so the real question would be can I maintain that idle temp at a lower rpm with a delid.

And no im no expert just an owner of the same CPU and trying to help out
Good luck.
