Here is what i want. I want to move my big desktop into my networking closet.

My closet is 20 feet away from my desk (give or take)

All i need is a USB-C cable to reach a docking station on my desk (as seen in a LTT episode)

It is impossible to achieve such a distance with even 10g data transfer up to par, LET ALONE FIND A CABLE longer than 10ft.

My second option is an optical cable....except no one, to my knowledge, makes usb 3.1 gen 2 optical cables capeable of 10g transfer rates. HOWEVER, i recently watched a video on youtube of a very populer host (LTT) in which he accomplished such a task except by using a thunderbolt 2 optical cable (however thunderbolt 2 on PCs is extremely rare and hard to achieve)

Does anyone have any ideas? or is my idea dead in the water?

I even considered USB C/ DisplayPort/ Back to USB C... but that also seems a bit overdone.

I would really like to figure this out for enthusiest purposes, i know it doesnt make the most sense.

Thanks for input!!

I have considered that option, but since I will be running a 1440p monitor off of the dock, I'm affraid the USB 3.0 speed will cause problems.... I will be running the USB C connection from an expansion card in my PC that allows the graphics card to "alt mode" into the USB-C connection

I did come across that exact cable and contacted the manufacturer, however I have a feeling it's going to be very high priced. I will keep updated
