Recently received a prebuilt as a gift. It has an i7-7700k inside of it. It is reaching max temps of 85 degrees while gaming. I have determined the problem to be poor airflow in the case. My question is are these temps ok to sustain for long periods of time? Also is their anything else I can do to reduce it short of buying a whole new tower? Thank you.

Well it makes sense its a pre-built they are notorious for being above ideal temps, but it will be fine for a decent length of time (ex A few years) although if I were you I would suggest getting a better CPU heatsink.

It usually takes a couple seconds to a minute or so to reach max temp on a Air Cooler and a good 20-30 min to reach max temp on a AIO/Water Cooler, so it reaching 83 in 15 mins means 83-85 degrees will be the maximum temp it should get to in a gaming session which is above what you want it but should not break the CPU in a short time period (Gaming should be fine for a couple-few years but I suggest getting a better cooler).
