So i have an ASUS M5A88-M mobo that I bought in a pre-built pc from a pawnshop. it does wierd things......

Asus M5A88-M
FX-6100
GTX 1050ti 4GB OC MSI
2tb Seagate barracuda
500watt corsair bronze?? PSU
and its sitting on my desk on a piece of cardboard.

I've been having a ton of bluescreen issues with windows 10 until I took it out of the case and set it up on my desk.
it no longer bluescreen however the computer will freeze up after a little bit with the last millisecond of sound playing continuously.
it also seems to have 2 dead ram slots on the board.

of someone needs more info i will happily deliver

Graphics works 100% on other computer.

Check heatsink tension on cpu. Might be too tight putting too much pressure on cpu. Removing mobo on breadboard from case would mean heatsink is now facing up instead of on it's side. Too tight can cause memory errors amongst other things.

Heatsink manual should say how to tighten. Usually just until finger tight then half turn with screw driver.

Inspect capacitors for swollen tops.

that would make some sense actually
Its AM3 mounting system so I can't loosen it?

EDIT: I've loostend the backplate on the mother board to reduce tension so I'll test it for a bit

EDIT 2: just a graphics card. no other adding and the memory thingy was happening when it was on its side

It might be heatsink pressure related, there have been cases where its been too tight causing memory problems. Might not be for you but if moving the mobo changes things i can only guess gravity is adding to the problem sideways.

@boju
its an am3 mounting system
the one that was used for the athalon and fx series

I've taken out ram from all but dimm 0 and 2 and it runs flawlessly now.
however it no longer works if in a case. I'm starting to think I need a new mobo
