Hi,

I have a wired LAN set up spread around the house and back area. From most of the Access points and modems, I can access all other computers on LAN via wireless but no internet access from most.

It starts from the NBN Modem via cable to a switcher then via cables to other access points where the cables terminate. I have wireless from there.

When I connect to these access points via wireless I get the network but can't get out to Internet.

I image a zillion reasons but any help please?

Just a thought.. When I set up each access point from the primary NBN router, I am not sure what addresses and passwords I should enter in each of them.

Thank you

You have to have modem -> primary router -> switch -> AP and devices.

You need to set the static IP address of each AP to be unique, in the same subnet as your primary DHCP server and outside the DHCP address range. I generally use addresses above .200 for my network hardware, but you need to verify your DHCP range on your primary router.

Hi,

Sorry I have confused.

I am using a Netgear CG3000, an Netcom NB300 and 3 TP-Link Access Points.

Both the 3000 and the 300 are connected via cable to the primary router which is connected to NBN.
The TP-Link APs are connecetd via WiFi to the primary.

LAN works line, just no internet using wireless frrm all of them except primary.

Hope this helps

You have such a hodge-podge of gear and I have no idea if you have ANY of it correctly configured, I can't provide much help other than generics.

Make sure that you are connected to LAN ports on the CG3000 (I don't think you have a choice) and the NB300. Ensure that DHCP is OFF on both of them.
Factory reset one of the TP-Link and go through the setup again. You didn't provide model number(s) so I can't look up a user's manual.

I really thank you kanewolf for your replies.

Yes it is a hodge podge for sure however it has worked in the past and LAN still does except for the wireless connections to the web.

I understand exactly what you describe and will recheck these tonight if I get the chance.
