Hi,
I have a small office with 15 Desktop PC's. Earlier I have 10 desktops running Windows 7 operating systems and it was working properly in my small Ethernet network. Now I purchased 5 new desktops having windows 10.

The issue begins now.....

I want to connect all the PC's in same network but now I can see only Windows 7 PC's from all the systems, but I am unable to see my Windows 10 Desktops. Even though I cannot see the Windows 10 desktop from another Windows 10 desktop.

I ping all the systems and its pinging properly. Can search from Run Command \\*****

Kindly help me to rectify my problem.

Solution
The protocol that Windows uses to "see" other windows computers is called SMB. In mid 2017 Microsoft turned off SMB v1 on Windows 10 computers because of a vulnerability. The master browser function (which keeps a list of windows computers) requires SMB v1 to work.

You have 2 options.
1. Ensure that one of the Windows 7 computers is the master browser. You can do this by turning off all your computers. Turning on the Windows 7 computers first and then the windows 10 computers. This mostly works.
2. Map the drives you need to share with in File Manager. The links will show up under My Computer (This PC), instead of Network.
