cheapest gpu that can run the original crysis max settings with atleats 40 fps paired with an Intel Core i5 3470S 2.9GHz and 8gb ram. Atm its win 10 pro but im thinking of upgrading to win 7 pro my friend has a disc. I dont know too much about computers but i know more than the average person i dont know how much power it uses its a desktop and it has no gpu it uses video intergreted graphics form the i5 so its not that good for some newer games. i dont know if this helps but i also have a 250gb ssd hard drive.

Would be the gt 1030.

You need to delve more into your actual system specs.

Board & psu information is Paramount as to whether you can run one or not.

Crysis in it's day was considered to be as much a tech demo as a game.

It was immensely hard to run at max settings & required pretty much the highest end gpu of the era to do so.

Its still harf to run at max settings nowadays.

A gt630 is not worth buying, its a weak weak card.

Dude gt 630 is not weak. Considering how old it is and its cheap price, its a great card i can run battlefield 1 on low with 35 fps

You can run a game on low with sub 60FPS? That's what we call a weak card. I'm not trying to pick on you or make you feel bad. Sometimes you have to use what you have. But lying to yourself or others isn't good. Lying to others when they are spending their money is actually a horrible thing to do. I run an R9 280 (the 7950 1GHz card.) It does what I want, but I don't run around telling people it's a great card. It can't run games at 4K, though most games will run at 1080 with med details around 60FPS. Newer games would have to drop down to low. For the games I play however it works for me.

First, win7pro isn't an upgrade. Again, lying to yourself doesn't do any good. At best it's a sidegrade. I would stick with the copy of win10 that you have.

Tom's recently did a review of 10yrs of cards and Crysis 1. To use very high settings and 1080 with 60FPS, you need something around the power of the 7970 (my 7950 can probably hit 60.) or the GTX670 or 680. These cards are much faster than the 1030 you are considering. To be honest I'd get the best GPU you can afford and find settings that work for you. I don't have the fastest card out there, but I don't need it either.

There is nothing wrong with adding a 750TI or 1030 to a PC. Just don't kid yourself that you have some uber gaming PC. It would be a low end basic PC, and as long as you don't expect it to handle current games at 1080 with Ultra details you should be fine.
