Not getting 144 Hz

I have a AOC G2460F that supports 144HZ, i have a gtx 1060 and a cable that also supports 144 hz, but im still not getting it :/ could it be any internal parts in my pc? The weird thing is that i have the option to pick 144Hz on my pc but it is definitely not 144Hz.

Try go through your monitor settings on your actual monitor and see anything on their for response rates / resolutions etc, also check the NVIDIA control panel and try that, if not consult to emailing your monitor company.

** UPDATE **

CONTROL PANEL SOLOUTION
Go to your desktop screen, right click anywhere and click control panel, then click advanced settings, then click monitor and you should see screen refresh rate and it may say something along the lines of 60 Hertz, click on it and see if you can increase that.

NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL SOLUTION
Go to desktop, right click anywhere then click on NVIDIA Control panel, then click change resoloution then click refresh rate on the right hand side and try increase to 144Hz

I have already changed it to 144hz because i have it as an option, but its still not 144hz even though i have chosen it, which is super weird :/

So you have the option of 144hz, you selected it, why are you saying it's not? You may want to provide some details here. If you look in the display properties, is it set at 144, or you select it and it changes to something else?

No, i have the option to use 144hz, i press it, its still 60hz, again i have clicked the 144hz so it should technically be 144hz but its not.
