I have spent so much money on this pc in the past 2 months so I can play Sea of Thieves and while I was waiting I decided to play some other games. I noticed while playing that I get low frames, bad stutters, and tearing all over the screen. My specs are
Cpu: Ryzen 5 1500x 3.2 ghz
Gpu: EVGA Gtx 1060 6gb
Motherboard: MSI Krait Gaming B350
Ram: 16gb ddr4

I noticed that my gpu was burning up but even before that was happening I was still getting poor performance on some games that I should be able to run on Ultra 60 FPS. Help pls

I think it is because even with the case open and I’m just sitting idle it still is around 45c which seems terrible. But I also have a 500w power supply so is that also something that’s causing bad performance?

45C idle isn't bad, it's pretty normal for the 1060. The thermal throttle is about 83C (core temp), so if you're hitting that the card probably isn't getting enough fresh air. Unless the PSU is failing, 500W is more than enough.

I'd attempt to game with the side of the case open (or off) to see if that gives the 1060 enough fresh air to prevent thermal throttling. It's both free and easy to try.

I ran through some games and it didn’t really seem like it made much of a difference. I think that the problem I’m really having is that I am playing a bunch of early access games so far and they might not be well optimized. It’s either that or a problem with the drivers.

Ah, I see. Good luck then. If the issue persists and you don't think it's the game, don't be afraid to start a new thread and ask again.
