CPU only for gaming.
No rendering, streaming..
Games: CS:GO, PUBG, Dota 2, LoL, WoW, GTA V.
Budget: 500€

So this is some info. I wanted to buy i7 but I found many articles and videos that i5 is almost same or same in gaming. If it is true I would buy i5 and spend rest of money on SSD or something else.

Solution
If you're not editing videos or doing game streaming, then yes - save your money and choose i5-8600(k) instead of i7.
Gaming performance on i7 is only marginally better. Not enough to justify price difference.

Yes that is what I am asking. Do not know which one should I buy. I am only playing games so if i7 is same like i5 why would I take i7.

Thank you. Is it possible to OC with that cooler and mobo?

1. assuming your buying cpu/motherboard/ram here? (see below)
or
2. are you wanting to reuse a current motherboard/ram package you have already ?

so for #1 I suggest 3 things a little old a little new

The main difference between the two is threadcount, the 8600K having 6 and 8700K having 12. For games that don't make use of those extra 6 threads the two are nearly equal, and even in games where the extra threads are useful the 8600K isn't exactly a slouch. The 8700K is the better processor for games for sure, and everything else for that matter, but the gains over the 8600K will depend on the game.

That said a lot of people overestimate the importance of the CPU when it comes to games. In simple terms the 8600K is more than adequate for games and for the vast majority of people the extra money would be better spent elsewhere.

You won't be able to overclock with that motherboard, & moving to a Coffee Lake CPU (i.e. the i5-8600K) means a brand-new motherboard on top of the CPU.

However, you don't need to worry about doing that. With the CPUs supported on your board (https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B150-PC-MATE#support-cpu), you can easily replace that i3-6100 with an i5-6600 (non-K). Or, if you first update your BIOS to version 7971vCA, you can go for an i5-7600 (again non-K). There's no point in getting the "K" variant for just a few extra clock cycles, especially when you'd have to also pay for a CPU cooler (since they don't come with one). That would allow you to not only replace the CPU, but also let you spend money on the RAM as well.

Currently, the Kaby Lakes are slightly cheaper than the Skylakes, so this is what you can get:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel - Core i5-7600 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor (€194.90 @ Caseking)
Memory: G.Skill - Trident Z 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory (€152.74 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Total: €347.64
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
Generated by PCPartPicker 2018-03-16 13:51 CET+0100

Note that the G.Skill Trident Z kit was not only the cheapest option for DDR4 listed on PCPartPicker, but it's on the officially supported list for the motherboard (https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B150-PC-MATE#support-mem-4). And that saves you the cost of having to buy a new motherboard (almost 100 euros) & the time to reinstall Windows.

since you have a B150 you cannot overclock even with a I7-6xxxK series cpu. the i7-6xxx would be a big improvement over your I3 for gaming, and would only cost a little to do so. should you go with I5 / Ryzen 7 complete make over, the improvement in speed will be a little more than 15%-20% over your system so worth it yes in my eyes.

But just to explain why I5-8600K or Ryzen & is a better choice if you where to only upgrade your system;
1. need to update bios, then get and use an I7-7700 (no point of K cpu on Bxxx motherboard)
2. upgrade ram from 8gb to 16GB (paired to get best dual channel speeds and compatibility)
3. heat sink that will support gaming on a the 7700 CPU.

REF : https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B150-PC-MATE#support-cpu
REF : https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B150-PC-MATE#down-bios

and go with the following.

You don't even need to spend £500 for a good "gaming" CPU. Better upgrade path as well with the AM4 platform:

yes, firstly I wanted to pick i7 7700k but the price is big and I thought that it will cost same as i5 8600k + mobo, ...

The motherboard isn't going to have much of an effect. With CS:GO, once you get to a 4C/4T CPU, more cores/threads doesn't provide a whole lot more boost. So the i5-8600K isn't going to perform a whole lot better than the i5-6600 or i5-7600. And once you move up to a 4C/4T CPU, whether or not it's overclocked won't provide a whole lot of boost either.

That's just not true nowadays. The era of "all you need is a quadcore" is over.

You do realize the OP was asking about CS:GO -- you know, the game where even an RX 460 can go over 200 FPS at 1080p (https://www.techspot.com/review/1221-amd-radeon-rx-460/page6.html), & only needs a Core 2 Duo E6600 (2C/2T) CPU as the minimum, do you honestly think that a 4C/4T CPU that's much more powerful than a Core 2 CPU isn't going to cut it?

Speaking of how many cores are needed the other game that requires strong cores that the OP plays is WoW and that's a game that I would easily take a 8350K over a 8400/1600, especially if it's overclocked to 5ghz. And if the money saved was used to get a SSD or better GPU then it's even more worth it.

Like this.

When PUBG and GTA V were also very clearly mentioned in the original post?
And why recommend an outdated cpu? The i3 8100 exists and costs a lot less than those outdated i5s.
Not to mention an i5 8400 costs less than the i5 7600 and absolutely destroys it in performance.

https://www.techspot.com/article/1532-pubg-cpu-benchmarks/: the "outdated" i5-7600K consistently outperformed the i3-8100 in PUBG.

https://www.techspot.com/review/1499-intel-core-i3-8100-i3-8350K/page3.html: the "outdated" i5-7600K consistently beat the i3-8100 in the games they tested

And that's ignoring the fact that, since Coffee lake isn't compatible with his existing motherboard, he's not actually saving any money. Assuming he bought the cheapest Z370 board (Gigabyte Z370P-D3), the price of that board with an i3-8100 would be the same price (195 euros) as simply buying the Kaby Lake i5...& he won't have to spend the time reinstalling/reactivating Windows just to end up with an inferior CPU.
