I was wondering if it is worth it to upgrade my CPU from a i5 6600 to i7 7700k? (and not i7 8700k my motherboard wont support it).
I don't play much games anymore, and main use is editing 4K gopro videos using adobe premier elements, and streaming video to a 4k tv

My current setup:
Core i5 6600 cpu
Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 7 LGA1151 motherboard
32GB DDR4 ram - Corsair Vengeance LPX (4 x 8GB)
Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 1050Ti graphics card
Samsung 960 PRO M.2-2280 512GB SSD
WD Black 4TB HD

With a 1050ti as GPU you shouldn't even bother about going to i7 7700k. i5 6600 can hold gtx 1070 pretty well. In games and general task you wont notice any improvement. Unless you upgrade your GPU.

Don't buy the i7 7700k unless you are doing video editing or loads of scientific calculations etc. Plus 7700k is a one big meh deal. 300 $ for that CPU is nuisance. 230$ 8600k beats it. cheap i5 8400 is pretty close in most places.

If you want an upgrade get a i5 8400 + H310 save some bucks and still have extra performance. Upgrade GPU to gtx 1070
I am running a 6600k (clocked to 4400) underwater. It's a great processor. However, your workload is substantially different from mine. You might see some benefit to the slightly higher base clock, but more importantly, the additional threads could be a major advantage to you. The I7 is made for more workstation oriented tasks, which is what you are using your PC for.

If you're professionally editing videos for work then the upgrade might be worth it but for personal use it probably wouldn't be. If you absolutely need to render videos faster then you might consider upgrading your platform altogether to something like AMD's AM4 socket or intel's workstation oriented LGA 2066 socket.
