I'm building a PC as my first PC to build, but will it run games?
Motherboad - GIGABYTE GA-F2A68HM-DS2
CPU - AMD Athlon X4 860k
PSU - Corsair CX 430
GPU - GT 1030
RAM - 2x4 Crucial Ballistix RAM DDR3 1600
I already bought the parts, just waiting on the CPU.
I know that FM2+ cpus arent the best but what would be any future upgrades for this motherboard/build be?
thank you!
This build is terrible. Any upgrade would lead to a complete system rebuild.
You could've gotten a ryzen 2200g apu that would've been a lot better than your 860k and on par gpu wise with the 1030.
If you can return all the parts and get a better build since this is not enough for gaming anymore.
well I didn't ask for you to dis my build man. I know for a fact that this build can run games I just wanted more input on this build. Please add something that's actually useful.
I am not dissing you at all just telling the thruth about it. The best you can do is return the parts and get something that is actually good enough to run todays games.
You will have to run all the big AAA games at low settings to stay above 30 fps from the last couple of years (some can be run at 1080p and some might even go up to medium) but that cpu has been below recommended specs for a couple of years now. The gpu is pretty much the same story.
If you want to upgrade in the future you will basically have to replace the whole build since you are running on quite outdated tech that has long since gotten it's support cut off. (the 860k is based on a 4 year old architecture design that back then was mediocre at best).
So my advice is if you can return all the parts and start over.
