This is the build I currently have planned. It actually went well over what I thought it would: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Realitea/saved/gPxJVn

The system will be for gaming, streaming, some light to moderate video editing and such. I'm curious to get feedback to see if I overlooked something, made any less-than-wise choices, etc. If you have any suggestions on how to make it cheaper while maintaining functionality and efficiency, I'm eager to hear it.

My plan is to upgrade it later on, so plenty of room for expansion is important.

I'm not at all sure about my mobo choice either. I want something that will overclock well, but got well tired of searching through all the options.

Solution
The build looks great, if you can spare the extra $50 I'd go with this for the motherboard.

Solution
I suggest you wait till after next weeks GPU Technology Conference as leaks suggest a GTX 2080 that will roll over the old 1080ti. The GTX 2080 Ampere is said to be based on Volta and come with 16~18GB's or GDDR6. This could also make your power supply a bit of a over kill unless you plan on 2. I change your Hybrid to a 4TB because with the 1TB 850 evo that little Hybrid isn't going to mean anything.

That mobo does indeed seem to fit my needs better, thank you.
I may be missing something obvious regarding the power supply, but would mind elaborating on why you think the one you suggested is better?

That's a great point. The brand new cards though, will bring a whole new (probably more expensive) premium price to the market though, no?

I do indeed plan on a second GPU in the future. That is part of the expansion I mentioned earlier. Planning for another GPU, full custom cooling, some sexier cables and (probably) a Thermaltake Tower 900, when the time for beautification comes.

I decided two days ago to go ahead with my build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Realitea/saved/gPxJVn

What will be will be with this GPU mess. I'm just going to enjoy my build until I can upgrade it some more, then look at it again whenever it starts to need something further.

Already received the Dell monitor; picked-up the Samsung 960 EVO and Win 10 from the nearest Best Buy. Everything else (minus a handful of accessories+the backordered DR-22WL) will be here tomorrow!

I'm excited to get started on it. Thank you all for the input.
